Swedish broadcaster TV4 has ordered a local version of Banijay’s format SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The eight-part remake is being produced by Banijay’s Swedish label Jarowskij and will see 18 civilian volunteers participate in a Special Forces training camp, supervised by four former instructors.
It was originally created by UK production company Minnow Films and has been produced in six markets to date, including the UK, US, France, and Australia, where a second season was recently commissioned. Banijay Rights sells the format globally.
In Denmark, three seasons of the show have aired and Banijay’s Mastiff Denmark is also producing a celebrity version for TV2, which will broadcast in the spring.
Iréne Lindblad, CEO at Jarowskij, said: “SAS: Who Dares Wins is an intensely gripping format, and the TV4 audience will revel in the participant’s resilience, which is put to the test by the SAS professionals. Navigating conditions within the spectacular Swedish terrain won’t be easy but will certainly make great television.”
Jarowskij has been behind scripted and non-scripted shows including Black Lake, The Restaurant, We Got This, Welcome to Sweden and Fort Boyard Sweden. It falls under the Banijay Nordic umbrella, which is headed up by CEO Jacob Houlind.
