Reed Midem extends MipTV Online
MipTV organiser Reed Midem is to extend the duration of its digital market MipTV Online+ for a week, with the online conference now due to run until April 10.
The service was offered free of charge to all registered MipTV, MipDoc and MipFormats delegates following the cancellation of the physical Cannes event as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. MipTV Online+ had been due to conclude yesterday.
Reed Midem said the move to extend the market was made following high demand for the service, with 4,000 delegates accessing the digital platform in its first four days.
Lucy Smith, television division deputy director at Reed Midem, said: “MipTV Online+ exceeded all expectations in our first week. With so much disruption going on in the world, it’s heartening to know more than 4,000 entertainment executives from across the globe made time to connect, screen and move business forward in spite of MipTV’s cancellation.”
MipTV Online+ allows buyers and delegates to stream programmes and presentations originally scheduled as part of the MipTV Drama Buyers’ Summit and the MipDoc Screenings Library. Delegates also have access to the In Development, MipDoc and MipFormats project pitches, as well as MipTV’s market intelligence conference sessions – Fresh TV and the Factual and Kids Content Showcases.
