Netflix took international distribution rights to Riverdale

Shortform video platform Quibi has ordered an original drama series from the creators of The CW’s teen drama Riverdale.

Written by Riverdale creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and writer Greg Murray, Good Boys & True is based on Aguirre-Sacasa’s play of the same name.

Exploring the dark side of privilege, the story follows six people drawn together by a disturbing videotape that surfaces on the campus of an elite boys’ school in 1988.

Good Boys & True is being produced by Muckle Man Productions in association with Warner Bros Television. Aguirre-Sacasa and Murray are exec producing.

Quibi, from former Walt Disney co-chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg, launched in the US and Canada last week and intends to release 175 original shows in its first year, including scripted, unscripted and daily news programming.
