Welcoming Adriana McKernan: Embracing Remote Work with allrites

Tyler Massey is allrites' new SVP of Global Sales

At allrites, every new team member brings a unique perspective and experiences that enrich our global family. Today, we are thrilled to introduce Adriana McKernan, who joins us as the Business Development Representative for the LATAM market and Latinx content. Adriana’s adventure with allrites is just beginning, but her impressive background and love for all things content make her a perfect fit for our dynamic team.

Adriana McKernan: A Passionate Professional with a Wealth of Experience

Adriana McKernan isn’t just any newcomer—her career spans over two decades in content sales and business development, focusing on Latin America and the US Hispanic market. Her journey has taken her through some of the most recognizable names in media, including BBC Worldwide Channels, MTV Networks, Latino Media Network, Inverleigh Media, and IMAX Corp. Throughout her career, Adriana has demonstrated a keen ability to drive growth, foster strategic partnerships, and deliver innovative content solutions to diverse audiences.

Now, Adriana is ready to broaden her horizons with a new chapter in the digital Film & TV content marketplace. When asked what excited her most about joining allrites and working in the global content marketplace, Adriana shared, “What drew me to allrites is the company’s reputation for innovation and excellence in media content. I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to work with a diverse range of content from around the world and be part of a team pushing the boundaries of content distribution.”

Adriana’s role here at allrites? She will be our go-to person for helping content buyers connect with global content sellers - old friends and new faces, especially regarding Latinx films and series or content “traveling” to LATAM. With her extensive experience, she is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of this dynamic region and contribute to allrites’ growth.

Since Adriana has been steeped in the media and entertainment world for over 20 years, we couldn’t resist asking her to peer into her crystal ball and share some industry forecasts. Specifically, we wanted to know what film and TV content trends she’s most excited about and how she thinks these trends will shape the industry’s future. Adriana told us, “I’m fascinated by the rise of localized content and new distribution platforms. These trends make the industry more inclusive and give audiences worldwide access to stories that resonate with them. By staying agile and innovative, I believe we can navigate these changes and continue to lead the industry.”

Adriana’s love for content goes hand-in-hand with her drive to connect stories with global audiences. When asked what makes a film or TV show appealing to international audiences, she stated clearly: “Some key factors are crucial in my vision: strong characters; localization and accessibility (dubbing, subtitles); cultural sensitivity; innovative storytelling & high production quality.”

And because we’re all content enthusiasts here (no shame in that), we just had to know her favorite movie. She has a taste for the classics: “Schindler’s List. Because the film is a powerful depiction of courage, humanity, and the impact one individual can make in the face of evil.”

allrites: A Global Content Marketplace Revolutionizing Content Licensing

allrites isn’t just a content marketplace; it’s a global hub where the best film, TV, and sports rights come together. With over 140,000 hours of diverse content, we’re the one-stop shop for buyers and sellers worldwide. Our innovative licensing models, like the allrites Content-as-a-Service (CaaS), are designed to keep up with the ever-evolving industry, offering flexible solutions that benefit content creators and distributors.

Adriana chose to join allrites for these very reasons. When we asked why, she said, “allrites stands out because of its deep commitment to quality and innovation. The company’s ability to bring diverse content to a global audience aligns perfectly with my values. I’m passionate about connecting stories with the right audiences, and allrites’ approach to content aggregation and distribution is something I deeply resonate with.”

So, what sets allrites apart from other companies in the industry? According to Adriana, it’s our diverse content library and tailored licensing solutions. “allrites sets itself apart with a vast library of over 9,000 titles in 40 languages and flexible, tailored licensing solutions. We ensure smooth integration with existing systems and offer a global perspective and local insights. Our forward-thinking approach and dedicated support help our clients stay ahead in the ever-evolving content marketplace,” she said.

Adriana is particularly excited about working at the intersection of technology and content distribution on a global scale. “What excites me most about being part of a company at the intersection of technology and content distribution on a global scale is the opportunity to shape the future of how stories are told and shared worldwide. The blend of cutting-edge technology with diverse content creates endless possibilities for innovation, allowing us to reach and engage audiences in previously unimaginable ways,” she shared.

In her view, allrites is ready to lead the transformation of the content industry. As someone who knows her stuff, Adriana recognizes that allrites has something extraordinary to offer. “allrites is shaping the future of the content industry through its commitment to quality and innovation in content aggregation and distribution. The allrites Content-as-a-Service (CaaS) model is a perfect example of how we’re revolutionizing content licensing, making it more accessible and beneficial for both buyers and sellers,” Adriana explained.

Looking ahead, Adriana is aware of the challenges that come with the territory. “The global content marketplace is rapidly evolving, with increased competition, shifting audience preferences, and the complexities of navigating diverse regulatory environments. To navigate these challenges, we need to stay agile and continuously innovate. I plan to leverage data analytics, form strategic partnerships, and focus on content diversity to ensure we meet the demands of both global and local audiences,” she shared.

Adriana also sees the importance of flexibility and innovation in maintaining Allrites’ competitive edge. “By prioritizing flexibility, we can quickly adapt to industry shifts and respond to our partners' evolving needs, ensuring we remain a trusted and responsive partner. On the other hand, innovation allows us to continuously refine our offerings and explore new content distribution models, keeping us at the forefront of the industry,” she explained.

Embracing the Remote Work Culture at allrites

Did you know that allrites is part of a tiny yet powerful group of companies globally? Depending on the source, only about 7% to 16% of global companies are 100% remote workspaces, and we’re proud to be one of them. At allrites, remote work isn’t just a policy—it’s part of our DNA. Since our inception in 2017, we’ve fully embraced a remote work culture, allowing our team members to work from wherever they feel most inspired. Whether from a home office, a cozy coffee shop, or even a beach, we believe that flexibility and autonomy are crucial to fostering creativity and productivity.

Our headquarters might be in Singapore, but our team spans the globe, united by a shared vision of making high-quality content accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Remote work at allrites

Adriana, who has experience working remotely, shared her thoughts on joining allrites’ remote-first team. “I’ve had the privilege of working remotely for years, but what stands out about allrites is the incredible sense of community despite the physical distances. The flexibility here isn’t just about where you work but how you connect with colleagues from different cultures, each bringing their insights. It’s a truly enriching experience,” she said.

Does being productive at home or getting distracted by household chores? Working from a coffee shop or sneaking in a donut (or three)? Regarding her favorite type of workspace, Adriana enjoys the balance between focus and flexibility. “I’m fortunate to have a dedicated office space in my home, which I prefer for focused work. However, the flexibility of working from anywhere is highly appealing. I also enjoy the dynamic atmosphere of working in a public coffee shop,” she explained.

Working remotely also comes with quirks, and we couldn’t resist asking Adriana about one. “Be honest—how many Zoom calls have you attended in pajamas since starting here?” we asked. Her response: “A few, I’ll admit! The comfort of working remotely is one of the many perks, and I think we all appreciate that bit of extra coziness now and then.” (And if you’re reading this in your pajamas, you’re in good company!)

But it’s not just about comfort; it’s about staying connected and ahead in the rapidly changing content industry. Adriana believes that allrites’ remote-first culture is a significant advantage. “Our remote-first culture is a huge advantage. It allows us to tap into diverse markets and cultural insights that help us stay ahead of trends. The flexibility also means we can quickly adapt to changes and collaborate seamlessly across time zones. A dynamic way of working sets us apart,” she said.

Adriana will get to meet some of us one day, but who is she most excited to meet first? Adriana shared, “In the allrites family, we’re all about global connections. If I could have a real coffee break with any team member across the globe, it would be with all of them! I would greatly enjoy meeting my colleagues over a glass of wine, especially Mike Parsons, who has dedicated much time and effort to mentoring and helping me excel in my role.”
