Synopsis


Through its set of varying characters, “The Dream Makers” weave a story about the potential consequences of fame and fortune within the entertainment industry. The iron ladies of this story are Wei Yun (Zoe Tay), a 42 year old who heads a variety channel, and Kang Li (Chen Li Ping), hailed as “Drama Queen” for her theatrical antics. Holding sad stories close – Wei Yun has to deal with a lying lover Zhi Ming (Shen Jin Xing) and Kang Li is faced with a family that is slowly but surely falling apart – both women start to realise that life is more than having successful careers. They discover the true meaning of love within family and friendships. Meanwhile, young starlings Zhao Fei Er (Jeanette Aw), Fang Tong Lin (Rui En), Jason Lam (Qi Yu Wu) and Gao Jian (Desmond Tan) are embroiled in a love rectangle haunted by fame, fortune, hurt and rejection. Will Jason end up with Fei Er or Tong Lin? What will become of Wei Yun and Kang Li? This drama represents an insightful peek into the world of showbiz, ultimately highlighting that not all is glitz and glamour – even the stars have moments where they cease to shine, even they have difficult hurdles in their lives to overcome.
