Kelebek options kids’ book series

The Isadora Moon books have sold more than 1.2 million copies

UK children’s indie Kelebek Media has optioned the rights to a book series by Harriet Muncaster.

Kelebek is set to develop a 51×11’ 2D animated series based on Muncaster’s books about Isadora Moon, who is half vampire and half fairy.

The main character is proud to be different and is all about self-acceptance, with the aim of the books being to make readers feel like it’s OK if they don’t get things right or fit in all the time.

The book series is aimed at five- to nine-year-olds and has sold more than 1.2 million copies worldwide in more than 30 languages.

Deborah Thorpe, founder of Kelebek Media, said: “I fell for Isadora Moon the minute I saw her. The books are beautifully and distinctively illustrated and the stories are full of charm, heart and humour.”
