EndemolShine Nederland ups Sil Geurtsen to head of programme development

EndemolShine Nederland, an Amsterdam-based Banijay Benelux label, has appointed Sil Geurtsen as head of programme development.

Reporting to Rob van der Vleugel, the company’s producer of non-scripted, Geurtsen’s new position will see him take responsibility for creating and developing new formats and supporting the development of international formats.

Before joining EndemolShine Nederland in January 2017, Geurtsen spent four years developing formats for Talpa. He began his career at EndemolShine working within the creative department as a programme developer across The Talent Project, The Road To The Million and The Biggest Quiz.

In 2018, he was seconded to the creative department of EndemolShine North America for 10 months, where he was responsible for developing new formats and pitching programmes to the American networks and streamers.

“Sil is a huge asset to the team and our organisation,” commented Van der Vleugel: “His excellent knowledge of what is going on within the international market, his expertise in developing ideas into formats, and his extensive creative network – both nationally and internationally – makes him the right person for this role.”

Geurtsen added that he was grateful to EndemolShine for the opportunity and was looking forward to developing new programmes for a global audience.
