Dori Media secures Apple TV’s second Israeli drama co-pro deal with ‘Losing Alice’

Losing Alice

Apple TV has struck its second co-production deal on an Israeli drama, boarding Dori Media’s psychological thriller Losing Alice.

The eight-part show, which is produced by Dori in association with local cable network Hot, is set to become available via Apple TV+ around the world later this year.

The show – currently airing on Hot in Israel – has been created, written and directed by Sigal Avin, and uses flashbacks to explore lead character Alice’s life. The story tracks the middle-aged film director as she looks to give meaning to her life after having a family, but becomes obsessed by a young writer who changes her outlook on life.

The Israeli deal is the second to come from Apple TV+ this month, after the streamer revealed it had struck another co-pro arrangement with Cineflix Rights and Israeli network Kan 11 to take scripted thriller Tehran worldwide.

The 8 x 60 minute show is set in Iran and is produced by Donna Productions and Shula Spiegel Productions, in association with Alon Aranya’s Paper Plane Productions, Cineflix Rights and Cosmote TV.

Apple is also working on a remake of Keshet’s Israeli drama False Flag that will star Uma Thurman and is to be known as Suspicion.

Other originals for the tech giant’s streamer include Gary Oldman-starring Slow Horses from See-Saw Films, and an eight-parter about Hedy Lamarr, revealed last month.
