Comedy Central reboots Beavis & Butt-Head
Beavis & Butt-Head originally aired on MTV in the mid 90s
ViacomCBS-owned pay TV channel Comedy Central has signed a deal with animator Mike Judge to reimagine MTV’s adult animated sitcom Beavis & Butt-Head.
Beavis & Butt-Head, which Judge created, initially ran on MTV from 1993 to 1997 and was revived for an eighth season in 2011. The satirical comedy centred around two teenage delinquent couch potatoes, both voiced by Judge.
Comedy Central has ordered two seasons of the new series, in which the Generation X characters will enter the modern Generation Z world. The deal also includes additional spin-offs and specials.
Judge will write, produce and provide voiceover for the reimagined series, which will come from 3 Arts Entertainment (King of the Hill).
