BBC iPlayer keen on Katy Keene

The CW dropped its plans to renew Katy Keene

The BBC has acquired the recently cancelled Riverdale spin-off series Katy Keene for its VoD service.

The 13×40′ show, which was cancelled after one season by US broadcast network The CW earlier this month, will arrive on BBC iPlayer on July 25

Based on Archie Comics characters, the show follows four New Yorkers, each with dreams to make it big in the worlds of fashion, Broadway, music and the arts.

The series was co-created by Michael Grassi and Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Riverdale was recently renewed for a fifth season by The CW and is scheduled to return to its schedule in January.
