Tiny World

Apple TV+ has announced its launch plans for a trio of documentaries set to be rolled out this autumn, each featuring voice overs by a major celebrity.

Tiny World, from UK-based Plimsoll Productions, is being narrated by Ant-Man star Paul Rudd and will see its first six episodes made available on the streamer from 2 October.

The show makes use of state-of-the-art camera technology to take a close look at the lives of some of the smallest creatures on the planet. It has been written and directed by Tom Hugh Jones, with Martha Holmes and Grant Mansfield attached as exec producers.

Elsewhere, The Crown’s Olivia Colman narrates Becoming You, which has been produced by Wall To Wall Media and is exec produced by Leanne Klein and Hamo Forsyth.

Its first six episodes will land on Apple TV+ on 13 November, with the show exploring how the first 2,000 days of our existence can shape the rest of our lives.

Finally, Earth At Night In Colour, is narrated by The Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston and will premiere on the service on 4 December.

It makes use of “next-generation cameras” to reveal the nocturnal lives of animals, in colour, for the first time. Filmed across six continents, from the Arctic Circle to the African grasslands, the series follows the moonlit dramas of animals at night. Offspring Films produces, with Alex Williamson and Isla Robertson exec producing. Sam Hodgson produces.

The docs join Apple TV+’s expanding unscripted offering, which also includes Long Way Up, the new motorcycle travel series starring and executive produced by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. It will land on 18 September.
